Where Creativity Hits the Concrete
For 35 years, I worked as a hairstylist in New York, a career that allowed me to express my creativity daily. Unfortunately, complications with my hands and shoulders led to multiple operations, and I had to leave the profession I loved.
In search of a new creative outlet, I experimented with various mediums until I found my passion in concrete craftsmanship. Yes, concrete! Today, I specialize in designing and creating bespoke concrete wall clocks, which can also be displayed on stands along with a handful of trinkets including coasters, jewelry trays, small bowls and fun mini-Polaroid picture holders (all the cool kids got ‘em).
Working in my studio inside my home allows me the freedom of creating whenever a design idea pops in my head. I take pride in focusing deeply on each piece, ensuring every detail is meticulously crafted. Even though there is an element of surprise after each pour, I do have color choices and some direction of the design so collaborating with clients is possible.
My clocks are more than functional items;
, they are unique pieces of art that reflect my dedication to quality and minimalist design. Whether hung on the wall or displayed on a stand, I take pride in my work, it’s cathartic and rewarding to be able to create again.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about my journey and work.
Best,
Marie Heath
